Yearly Equipment Check up

Yearly Equipment check

Each year you should go through all of your stuff. Make sure your emergency bag has everything needed in it like extra adapters, cords, plugs, tape, batteries, aspirin, ect. You should also take this time to clean off your equipment and polish it up. Armor all works great for faded speakers especially plastic ones. Make sure you clean the dust off your mixer and controller if it has accumulated there. A clean looking set up says a lot about how professional you are. If your speaker stands are scratched up then add a coat of spray paint to them. If your speaker grills have worn spots then a sharpie can work well at coloring in the worn spots.

Go through your music and run a cleaner, ID3 tagger, MP3 gain, and defragment programs on your hard drive. This will clean the tags on your music (if you are a perfectionist). MP3 Gain is a program that will go through and normalize all of your music for you so one MP3 is not louder or softer than the others. It makes them all the same volume. It is also a good idea to check your hard drive for errors and defragment it as well.

Check to make sure that all of your DJ software and operating system is up to date with the most current version. Your hardware or controller may also have a firmware update that is needed. You can check their websites for any updates you may need. You should also go through your computer and clean out any unnecessary programs on it to make it run as fast as possible (This should be done already hopefully).

You should update your website and social media accounts and any other online sites you have to be current with posts and today's trends. You might even want to change things up a bt to keep it FRESH. Remember just like a car or house your Business needs to be maintained yearly (at lease) so it will perform its best.

Sales and Selling Yourself

Sales and Selling Yourself

You sell yourself in many ways. The first is selling to your clients through advertising or Trade (Bridal) shows. All of this should be also funneled to your website which should also be built simple and informative and enough to close sales for you. In order to satisfy your customers needs you must find out exactly what they want and let them know exactly what you can offer them. Building a Q & A sheet for your business can help you and others sell parties for your company in the correct manner. Make sure all of your materials like business cards and brochures look real nice and they are not cheaply made because it says a lot about you and your company. It is all about appearance and first impressions. Be excited (even when you are not) when you talk to potential clients, talk to them with sincerity and make sure you can project to them that you really care about one of the most special days of their lives turns out. Make sure you can convey to them that you will be in control of the party while listening to exactly what they (your clients) want.

Peavey Introduces Elements™ Weatherproof Loudspeaker Enclosures

Peavey Introduces Elements™ Weatherproof Loudspeaker Enclosures. weather-repellant grills and weatherproof speaker cones.

Music and audio innovator Peavey Electronics introduces its latest advancement in pro audio loudspeaker enclosures, the Elements™ weather-proof loudspeakers. The all-new American-made, incredibly durable, reliable and versatile Elements weatherproof enclosures are a combination of innovative cabinet construction and proven, weatherized components designed for direct contact with the elements in the most demanding climates. Gone are the days of hanging so-called enclosures outside only to replace the speaker in a year or two.

The Elements C series of composite enclosures are constructed from an advanced composite fiberboard material that is dimensionally stable in wet conditions and resists contamination, yet has the resonant properties of wood. This light and durable material ensures unmatched sonic performance while providing reliable service year after year.  The aluminum grills of the Elements C series enclosures feature a barrier membrane that repels water yet allows moisture to escape without affecting the sonic performance of the loudspeaker.

The IP45 rated Elements C series is available in three two-way, full range configurations and as a flyable subwoofer. The Elements 115C and Elements 112C debut new 15” and 12” weatherproof Black Widow® woofers and an RX™22 2” titanium diaphragm compression driver tweeter coupled to a Quadratic-Throat Waveguide® rotatable horn. The Elements 115C and Elements 112C can each be ordered with either a 60 X 40 or a 105 X 60 horn. The Elements 108C combines a 75 X 75 horn with an 8” weatherproof woofer in a compact and durable enclosure. The Elements 212 subwoofer is a flyable subwoofer enclosure featuring a pair of 12” weatherproof woofers.

The Elements M series enclosures feature rugged molded cabinets and a variety of
speaker sizes and horn options. All cabinets feature an IP45 environmental rating, thanks to stainless multi-fly-point hardware, sealed terminal connections, weather-repellant grills and weatherproof speaker cones. The cabinet and hardware designs combine to form a system that can be used in almost any application. The Elements M series array hardware and cabinet design allows cabinets to be mounted in either vertical or horizontal arrays in 5-degree increments. In addition, lighting/power pole mounting hardware is available to accommodate both the M and C series cabinets.

Each Elements M series two-way system features an RX™22 2” titanium diaphragm compression driver tweeter and is available with 8”, 10” and 12” woofer combinations. The Elements 108M, 110M, and 112M come with Quadratic-Throat Waveguide® rotatable horns and can be ordered in 60 X 40 or 105 X 60 configurations.
