At CES 2019 Technics Introduces Elegant SL-1500C Coreless Direct Drive Turntable | Analog Planet

The return of Technics 1200

New News from the CES Show for this month. Technics is bringing back the 1200. Pictured above is the SL-500C made for consumers with a built in MM phono preamplifier. This unit does not have a pitch slider, cue light, or platter strobe marks on the platters edge so DJs will want to look at the SL-1200MK7 that has those options.

The SL-500C will retail for about $1399.00 where the SL-1200MK7 should have a retail price of $1199.00

Mixing music effectively is a very important skill. Dead air during a show, beginning a song late, or ending a song early, will not only look sloppy, but sound sloppy. There are two phases to mixing well.

  1. Being able to que the music correctly
